Additional information for motorcyclists

Practical tests of categories A1, A2 and A are organised depending on the weather conditions.

  • Clothing

    During the test, we ask the examinees to take care additionally of:

     

    • charged mobile phone and hands-free device (headphones);
    • brightly coloured vest with reflective elements (if there are no such elements on the clothing).

     

    During the test, the examinee needs to have the following special clothing:

     

    • safety helmet;
    • elbow, knee and shoulder protection;
    • gloves;
    • boots.

    IMPORTANT. You will not be able to take the test without proper protection.

     

    Appropriate clothing is that is designed to protect a motorcyclist riding on the asphalt or concrete coating:

     

    • helmet – certified safety helmet for motorcyclists with integrated eye protection or motorcyclist goggles;
    • elbow, knee and shoulder protection – leather, textile or denim trousers strengthened with abrasion-resistant material, and the jacket with integrated elbow, knee and shoulder protectors, or removable elbow, knee and shoulder protectors – ‘armor‘;
    • gloves – abrasion-resistant gloves that protect the palms and knuckles and cover the hand;
    • boots – motorcyclist boots with a hard sole, that are resistant to abrasion and cut. The label of quality boots contains a note about the compliance with the standard EN 13634.

     

    Examples of inappropriate clothing:

     

    • a helmet that is improperly sized, defective, without eye protection or additional protective goggles, or with poorly transparent eye protection;
    • elbow, knee and shoulder protection or clothing that are not intended for a motorcyclist (for roller skaters or those practicing other sports), improperly sized or with defective fasteners;
    • ski gloves, motocross, work or other gloves, which are not intended to protect against friction to the asphalt or concrete coating;
    • casual shoes or sneakers.
  • Special manoeuvres

    Practical test consists of two parts:

     

    • special manoeuvres in the driving lot;
    • driving on the real public road.

     

    In the driving lot, the examinee is tested for ability to:

     

    • control the motorcycle with the engine switched off;
    • ride in a narrow lane straight at the same speed when an examiner is walking slowly (about 1 m/s) next to the examinee;
    • ride by performing an eight-shaped manoeuvre;
    • slowly and quickly ride by performing a snake manoeuvre without stopping, between six cones arranged in one line;
    • bypass an obstacle at a speed of at least 50 km/h;
    • accelerate at a speed of 30 to 40 km/h and stop at the specified place;
    • take a small radius turn to the left or right;
    • brake when driving at a speed of at least 50 km/h.
  • Information for those who want to take the test using their own motorcycle

    Drivers seeking vehicle categories A1, A2 and A, may take the practical test not only using the vehicles of "Regitra", but also their own vehicle, which must meet special requirements:

    Internal combustion engine capacity at least 115 cm3 and not exceeding 125 cm3 at least 245 cm3 at least 595 cm3
    Rated power not exceeding 11 kW (15 HP) at least 20 kW, but not exceeding 35 kW at least 50 kW
    Power to mass ratio not exceeding 0,1 kW/kg not exceeding 0,2 kW/kg
    Additional information develops a speed of at least 90 km/h unladen mass not less than 175 kg
